Natural Fibers

At ToeSox, it’s important that we protect your feet, and our planet. That’s why we put your toes in sustainable, pesticide-free organic cotton.  Organic cotton is soft and doesn’t irritate the skin. We are committed to finding fibers that make Happy Feet and a Happy Planet.

Why Organic Cotton?

Third-party certification organizations verify that organic producers use only methods and materials allowed in organic production. Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment.  Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture.  By making the switch to organic cotton, you’re also helping to support conscientious farming communities who have been growing cotton without harmful chemicals for years. The elimination of polluting and nitrogen leaching chemicals, done in combination with soil building, protects and conserves our water resources.  Growing organic cotton can actually replenish and maintain soil fertility, improving land quality and our planet in general. FACTSREADS REVIEW
Cotton accounts for 50% of the world’s textile market. It takes some of the harshest chemicals to grow it conventionally, for instance:
  • It takes 1/3 pound of agricultural chemicals to produce one cotton t-shirt.
  • 25% of the world's insecticides are used in cotton production.
  • Many of the pesticides used are known human carcinogens.
  • Toxic runoff pollutes water and kills wildlife.

Equilibrium

"You can enhance your equilibrium (in standing poses) by spreading the toes and the ball of the standing foot.  The broader your base, the more stable you are, and even the slightest widening of the sole of the foot is surprisingly helpful."
