How to Fall In Love

love-couple

Flushed skin, butterflies in the tummy and a bubbling warmth rises when you see your partner – the feeling of love is superb, isn’t it? Sometimes it can be distracting. Ever catch yourself daydreaming at your desk about the one that has stolen your heart? It’s a natural human condition to desire love.

We’re hopeless romantics. That's why we curate a limited edition Love Collection of socks each year to celebrate the blissful feeling of L-O-V-E. Some of us have had an easy path toward love, while others of us have had a bumpy road. While on the hunt for a soulmate, never forget that love comes in many forms. All love relationships are spectacularly important in your life – like those with family and friends. Be sure to appreciate them.

Whether you are in search of a true friend or the “one”, we’ve discovered that love comes about by following these 3 steps:

Do These 3 Things To Fall In Love

Offer Love

In order to receive love, you must know what it is. This means cultivating daily the kind of love you want. Put your love into the world through eye contact, kind words, active listening, respect and compassion. Be mindful how you interact with everyone – from barista to employer to fellow customer. Be what you want.

Be Specific

It’s hard to get what you want when you don’t even know what you want. Make a note about what you love most about the people in your life and what you definitely do not love. It may sound greedy to list physical attributes, but if you have something in mind that you want, then you must be clear about those too. Write down exactly what you want on the inside and out in a concise statement (long lists of must haves are not needed). Next, say it out loud with full belief you will receive it. Trying saying: “I can’t wait to meet my love who is ______________________”

Do You

Your soulmate will show up when it’s time. In the meantime, live your grand life. It may sound cliché, but life really is too short so don’t waste it waiting around. Instead, be your best. Miguel Ruiz, author of the best-selling book The Four Agreements, insists on this in his fourth agreement:

Always Do Your Best: Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

Wouldn’t you want the one you love to be their best? You betcha. So you better show up being your best too. Go to yoga, brunch with friends, read a great book, light candles, meditate, nourish your body with a home cooked meal.

Implementing these 3 steps each day not only puts you on the path toward LOVE, but it sets you on the beautiful road to a love affair with your own soul. Take care of it and so will others.
